In the relentless and enduring pursuit of FIRE, there are a few core components.
Reduce your expenses | Optimise income | Invest the rest
I’m happy to report that I have just exercised one component of it. Optimise for Income. I’d left my previous job last week, and start at my new workplace next week, and with that, managed to meaningfully optimise my income a bit.
There are a few other levers to optimising income. Side hustles for example, are one way to increase income. But until the side hustles scale considerably, your day job still represents the bulk of income, and any change to the upside for that is definitely welcome.
I’ve had a great time and forged great working relationships, and friendships at my workplace, and am looking forward to new challenges at the new workplace, and forging new great relationships.
In the meantime, keep calm and march toward FIRE. Wish me luck on the new gig, and what are you doing on your march to FIRE?
