I came across this TEDx talk by Lacey Filipich on the importance of considering and achieving financial independence, and having the ability to go on mini retirements.
I really like the idea of being Time Rich. And that the goal of FIRE is not necessarily to sit on the beach all day sipping Pina Coladas, but more on the idea of being in control of your time, and using the time you have to do the things you love.
If that happens to be your current job, that’s great, but if not, you are in total control to say “you know what, this is not what I want to be doing, thank you very much.” and just go find something else.
