Veve’s Disney Golden Moments Collection

Disney Golden Moments Collection

A few months ago in August, I wrote about discovering a new NFT platform called Veve. Veve then had a partnership with Disney, and started putting out Disney IP as NFTs, and I duly snagged a rare Spiderman “Jumping into Action” NFT.

I funded my Veve account with an initial USD800, which translated to 800Gems (their version of a stablecoin). I then proceeded to purchase my Spiderman NFT via the drop, meaning I got this first hand, and not from the open market.

I managed to get the rare spiderman NFT for 100 Gems from the drop on 7 August. I subsequently sold it for 210.45 Gems on 11 November on the open market. a 100% flip for holding it for 3 months. Not a bored ape level trade, but hey, not bad huh?

Disney Golden Moments NFTs

I then saw a lot of publicity for the Disney Limited Edition Gold NFTs, collectively called the Disney Golden Moments Collection. This collection spreads across various Disney properties including Marvel, Simpsons, Pixar etc and was launched in conjunction with the first annual Disney+ Day.

Classic moments and iconic characters like the Pixar pizza truck, Wall-E, the Avengers logo are all minted in a rare collection.

I had a feeling that in time, these would probably be even more valuable than the Spiderman I had in hand, so I sold it at a profit, to try and collect more of the Disney Golden Moments series.

Unfortunately, the drops were all scheduled at 4am my local time, and so I tried, but my fingers weren’t fast enough. (These drops are all first come first serve, and in limited editions, so only a handful of people will be lucky enough to get their hands on them at list price).

So I had to get them off the secondary market.

But still, I think there’s room for more profit.

I guess I’m an art collector now

So, right now, on Veve, here are the various NFTs I have, as well as information around them.

Disney Golden Moments – Homer & Bart

Everybody loves The Simpsons, right? What’s better than a Simpsons NFT? An official, Disney sanctioned rare collectible GOLDEN NFT! Well, this piece is not super rare, in fact, under rarity stats, it is labeled as Common, as there are 12,333 minted editions available.

I snagged one from the secondary market for 374.69 Gems, and within days, the current *floor price is 690 Gems. If you had been quick at the drop, you could have gotten this for 60 Gems.

*Do note that floor price changes based on the demand and supply economics of each NFT, so these are prone to changes throughout the day, both on the upside and downside.

Disney Golden Moments – Avengers Logo

Again listed at 60 Gems at the drop, I bought this from the market at 396.99 Gems, and at the time of writing this article, floor price has shifted up to 648 Gems.

The avengers have become such an integral part of our popular culture, with Marvel bringing superhero from a niche market into the mainstream. Under Disney, the Marvel brand is just growing from strength to strength.

So I believe this NFT definitely has legs to run for quite a while.

Other Veve NFTs I currently own

I also currently own another 2 NFTs. Not much reason I bought them, other than I thought it was cute.

One of them is Throg, the Frog of Thunder, who made his first ever TV appearance in a blink and you’ll miss it cameo on Loki Season 1. I got this for 47 Gems (amazingly under the list price of 50 Gems), and it is currently sitting on a price floor of 52.55 Gems.

The other is from LA based designer Tristan Eaton’s OG Devil Bunny. I got the black variant. List price was 25 Gems, I bought it for 85 Gems, and the floor price is currently 107 Gems.

This is Tristan’s comment on how quickly it sold out. Holy Cow indeed.

My current Veve NFT valuation

So in all, I have 4 collectibles currently in my Veve account. If I look at the floor price of these items to have a sense of the value my collective NFTs hold, they are currently around 1500 Gems.

That’s almost a 2X return, given that my account was funded with an initial 800 Gems. Not bad at all.

Are you interested in NFTs at all? Let me know in the comments below if you’re keen to explore the Veve collections.
