What’s Next After the En Bloc Announcement

If you’ve been following the Loyang Valley En Bloc saga on this blog, you’ll know April felt like the finish line.

$880 million. Third time lucky. Eight years. Done.

Except it wasn’t done.

The public announcement was just the start of another bout of waiting.

The unsexy part nobody puts in the press release

Since April, we’ve been waiting for completion.

That means both us and the developer grinding through a pile of paperwork and securing the necessary permits before anyone can lock in the final completion date. Until those boxes are ticked, “sold” is still just a headline. You can’t circle a move-out date. You can’t sign on the next place with full confidence. You’re in limbo with a very expensive countdown clock that hasn’t started ticking yet.

It’s the least glamorous chapter of the whole en bloc story. No tender drama. No $880 million figure dropping. Just forms, approvals, and “we’ll update you when we know.”

Meanwhile, we started looking

We didn’t just sit around staring at the walls.

Over the last few weekends, we finally started house hunting. Five or six condominiums so far. Walk-throughs, floor plans, the usual “this kitchen is nice but that layout is weird” conversations.

So far, there’s only been one strong contender.

We’re leaving it there for now, leaving you with a tease until we get things sorted.

The next two weeks matter

We should be coming up on the final hurdle now.

If things go as expected, we’ll have clarity on completion over the next two weeks. That’s the piece everything else hangs off — legal completion, vacant possession, and whether we can actually close on the condo we’ve got our eyes on.

I’ll follow up with another update when we have that clarity. Hopefully the next post is less “still waiting” and more “we’re taking the unit.”

Until then, Loyang Valley is still home.
